And THIS is why we need to impeach Trump now, rather than wait until 2020

Federal cases have limited jurisdiction and standing is the principal way the concept is expressed to litigants. So, who would have standing to seek to declare 2000 DOJ "President is a King" memo unconstitutional?

If this is the bar for whether someone ought to be POTUS, God help us.

The thin strand of legitimacy by which Trump's presidency hangs requires that he defend criminal activity that is a profound, direct threat to American national security.

On @Lawrence @ZoeLofgren was sharp as a tack noting that July 25, 1974 clip @MSNBC ran of VA GOP congressman Butler saying how it was their duty to impeach came at the end of investigation not the beginning like now

. @HouseJudiciary #Hearing: I think Barbara McQuade's connection of Trump's obstruction to blocking the investigation into the Russian attack arguably makes the case for finding that @realDonaldTrump's obstruction materially assisted in the Russian attack.

So today, de facto impeachment hearings open with the testimony of John Dean, White House Counsel for Nixon during Watergate.

My preferred strategy is for Dems to work to put the @SenateGOP majority at risk. The four most vulnerable members should be noted daily in their local news being tied to Trump Tim makes an excellent point. We need not only POTUS but Senate to save the Republic. Nothing else really matters. History can say he should have been tarred and feathered if we succeed. So be it. If we fail there won't be a history. -dbciii

Mueller’s public statement was a chess move? He repudiated parts of Barr’s 19pg memo but also used Barr’s own words that it was Congress’s duty to impeach Trump if there was wrong doing.

By not starting impeachment, Dem leadership has only accomplished making Dems fight with other Dems over... impeachment. INSTEAD OF FIGHTING THE REPUBLICANS.

I welcome ANY cogent argument that there is a viable solution to this impasse. Please! 2021 is far too far off. I am still hopeful, but to be honest I have nothing on which to base that hope except wishful thinking.

let’s assume federal prosecutors indict the president after he leaves office for crimes that were committed more than 5 years before the indictment is handed down . . . OUCH! I guess the takeaway is like with Al Capone, it may be hard to find something to put him away :( -dbciii
